User Manual to Me

Ho hum... some of us might want to try this...

Apparently this is a thing... the more I've read or heard about it in the past few months, the less silly it sounds and the more things I've thought of, personally, that go unsaid, that might help everyone if I shared them.

It's along the lines of saying, upfront, things that might otherwise be preceded by "once you get to know me, you'll realise that..." or "you may have noticed that I..."

So... this website is dedicated to this whole thing (and seems really cool, but with so many exercises and click-throughs, it's a bit too much work for me right now), and so here's a simple framework for getting started on building your own (taken from the article linked above, which takes it from this example and article):

  1. My style

  2. What I value

  3. What I don’t have patience for

  4. How to best communicate with me

  5. How to help me

  6. What people misunderstand about me

Give it a try? My first attempt at this (see below) has some slight modifications to that structure to emphasise what I feel the need to share, YMMV.
